ABCMouse is an awesome online resource for parents and children that provides a full online curriculum developed by a team of teachers and experts in the field. The website offers six different levels geared towards children from ages 2-5+ and includes over 450 different lessons. The curriculum is divided into lessons areas including Reading, Math, World Around Us, Art and Colors, and Music.

ABCMouse is a subscription-based website that allows parents to create a primary account with a password protected homepage. User accounts can be set up for each child based on their age and ability level. From there, the possibilities are endless!

Customization

There are so many things to customize in the program from the clothes the children’s avatars are wearing to the activities your children can play.  One tool I love is the Lesson Builder.  This allows you to choose the books, games, and activities your children play in order to complete a lesson and earn a special reward.  You simply drag and drop what you want.  This helps when a child needs more work on a specific area, like counting by tens or that one letter sound they just can’t remember.  You can also block any activities that you don’t want your child doing.

Affordable

A one year subscription costs as little as .22 cents a day!  That’s about $6.50 a Month!  Plus, the access you have to their printables lasts beyond the subscription.  Just put them in sheet protectors, use dry erase markers and they will last for years.

Do I recommend ABCmouse.com?

You betcha! I think it’s a GREAT tool to have for your little ones and toddlers.  Of course older children can use ABC Mouse too, but I don’t feel right telling you what I think about that for older kiddos, because I haven’t even gotten there.
